ArcSoft announced today that its best-selling multimedia player application, TotalMedia Theatre® 3 Platinum now features a new 3D plug-in, which includes Blu-ray 3D and Sim3D™. With ArcSoft’s 3D plug-in, users now can enjoy Blu-ray 3D and native stereo 3D movies and video files, as well as turning regular 2D photos and movies into realistic 3D.

Sim3D™, encoded in AVC-MVC, creates a realistic stereo 3D viewing experience in real-time. Native stereo 3D movies and videos include 3D-DVD, YouTube 3D files, and 3D videos that are encoded in Left/Right, Up/Down, Anaglyph, and more.

Nero, creator of liquid media technology, today announced its largest PC OEM deal ever, via an agreement with Toshiba. The PC manufacturer will include Nero 9 Essentials and Nero BackItUp & Burn Autobackup Essentials on all upcoming notebooks, netbooks and external hard disc drives (eHDDs) distributed in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), enabling customers to quickly and easily backup files, burn CDs, DVDs, and Blu-ray Discs, and sync files and folders. The partnership contributes to the expansion of Nero’s OEM distribution channel and follows hot on the heels of recent contracts with OEMs such as Acer, Packard Bell, eMachines and Gateway.

Sony Creative Software today announced Blu-print 6™ Blu-ray Disc authoring application and the brand-new Z Depth™ 3D subtitle offset editing application. As one of the first professional 3D Blu-ray™ Disc authoring products available on the market, the upgraded Blu-print 6 will be capable of authoring 3D titles in accordance with the Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA) 3D Blu-ray disc specification to greatly enhance workflow capability for production facilities and professional video editors. Blu-print 6 allows for easy import of MVC encoded content along with support of 3D menu graphics and subtitle graphics. 3D Blu-ray Java integration also allows for user interactivity like BD-Live.
