Lite-On (www.liteonit.com), a global leader of optical storage solutions, announces the new eTDU108 external slim DVD-ROM drive. The eTDU108 lets users play back content, access data and install software from CD or DVD discs. Its top-load design and two color options make it stylish, convenient and space-saving.

A great travel companion for any notebook or netbook without a built-in optical drive, the eTDU108 is powered directly from the notebook through the enclosed USB cable, so there is no need for an AC adapter or nearby outlet. Weighing less than 0.7 lbs, the lightweight device is ideal for travelers, busy professionals and students.

“It is increasingly more common to see a notebook without an optical drive included,” said Christine Hsing, Marketing Manager at PLDS. “The eTDU108 is a convenient and affordable solution for playing back your movies, photos, and music, and installing software from a disc onto those notebooks.”

The eTDU108 is integrated with a top-loader mechanism for convenient CD or DVD playback.  With the built-in USB cable holder, you can also be certain the USB cable is in place every time you use the drive.

The drive reads DVD±R discs at 8X maximum, double layer and rewriteable DVD±R discs at 6X maximum and CD (-ROM, -R & -RW) at 24X. It comes with color options black or white, and additional colors will be added at a later time.

The eTDU108 will be available to consumers in July at the suggested retail price of $49.99. For more product information, please visit www.liteonit.com
