Sans Digital, a leading provider of high performance storage subsystems, has integrated a convenient LCD into its previous MN2L model, releasing the new MobileNAS MN2LP. The MN2LP is a compact 2-bay network attached storage for the sharing of files via home or office network. Supporting a mixed network, the MN2LP provides convenient access to various types of files in a centralized location.

The MobileNAS MN2LP is designed to provide such data sharing with RAID redundancy against hard drive failures. Aside from data sharing, the MN2LP could also be used as centralized data storage to backup personal data for computers. Compatible with Windows (via CIFS), MAC (via Apple Bonjour Network) and Linux (via NFS), the MN2LP effortlessly supports simultaneous access from computers running different operating systems. The newly added LCD display provides crucial RAID and system information. The IP address is also displayed via the LCD, to eliminate the need for additional IP address locating software. The user could utilize this IP address to easily manage the MN2LP via the web management console for unit setup, as well as obtaining detailed system log information.

The MN2LP also supports FTP and iTunes servers for advance users. FTP server allows users to download from or upload to the MN2LP from remote locations. The built-in account management allows data safe-keeping by giving read-only or full read/write permissions to specified users or groups. iTunes server allows direct MN2LP access via iTunes on both PC and MAC. Multiple users could share music files from the MN2LP simultaneously by locating the MN2LP icon in iTunes. “Utilizing the latest SATA II technology, the MN2LP supports data redundancy with RAID 1 (mirroring) and performance upgrade with RAID 0 (stripping), protecting against hard drive failures while allowing storage expansion,” stated Grandy Chen, Sans Digital’s President. “The newly added LCD further simplifies the management process, making this NAS more user friendly than ever.” For more information on the MobileNAS MN2LP, please visit: http://www.sansdigital.com/mobilenas/mn2lp.html.
