This stylish and compact drive is capable of 8x DVD±R, 8x DVD+RW, 6x DVD-RW, 4x DVD±R DL and 5x DVD-RAM writing speeds and can read Blu-ray Discs at speeds as high as 6x. The SE-406A is also USB powered and features support for Samsung's AV connectivity technology. To top it all off, the drive comes with CyberLink's Blu-ray Disc Suite which includes software capable of playing Blu-ray movies in 3D.

CDRLabs finishes up the week with a review of Plextor's new external 12x Blu-ray Disc writer, the PX-LB950UE. Offering some of the fastest BD reading and writing speeds available, the PX-LB950UE is capable of 12x BD-R, 8x BD-R DL and 2x BD-RE writing speeds and a maximum BD-ROM read speed of 8x. The drive also features both SuperSpeed USB 3.0 and eSATA connections as well as support for HP's LightScribe Direct Disc Labeling system and Plextor's PlexUtilities advanced application and diagnostic tool. To top it all off, it comes with CyberLink's Blu-ray Disc Suite which includes software capable of playing back Blu-ray movies in 3D.

The StoreJet 25H3P also features a sophisticated three-stage shock protection system that meets the U.S. military's drop-test standards. Along with an anti-slip rubber enclosure, this system incorporates a reinforced hard casing that evenly distributes the force of an impact, and an internal hard drive suspension damper as a last line of defense.

Made out of rigid aluminum, the Viper U3 applies catalytic heat dissipation mechanisms to remove heat and keep the hard drive cool. The Viper U3 also utilizes a vertical stand, minimizing the amount of space occupied. Last but not least, it features a SuperSpeed USB 3.0 interface capable of delivering transfer rates up to 5 Gb/s.

kingston_dtu30g2_drive_sm.jpgCDRLabs kicks off the week with a review of Kingston's second generation USB 3.0 flash drive, the DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 Generation 2.  While similar in appearance to the original DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0,  this new drive uses a native USB 3.0 controller which offers better performance and power management. The DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 G2 is capable of reading at 100 MB/s and writing at 70 MB/s. It is also backwards compatible with USB 2.0 and can be powered completely off a computer's USB bus without the need for additional cables.

Today, CDRLabs brings you a review of LG's portable 6x Blu-ray Disc rewriter, the BP06LU10. This new Super Multi Blue drive is capable of 6x BD-R, 6x BD-R DL and 2x BD-RE writing speeds and a maximum BD-ROM read speed of 6x. The BP06LU10 is also backwards compatible with all major CD and DVD formats and offers features like a 4MB buffer, support for HP's LightScribe Direct Disc Labeling system and CyberLink's Blu-ray Disc Suite which includes software capable of playing back Blu-ray movies in 3D.

CDRLabs has put together a brief review of HornetTek's Goliath USB 3.0 hard drive enclosure. The Goliath is made out of rigid aluminum and supports 3.5-inch SATA hard drives up to 2TB. The enclosure also sports a built in 80mm fan and extra ventilation to keep hard drives cool. To top it all off, it features a SuperSpeed USB 3.0 interface capable of delivering transfer rates up to 5 Gb/s.

This stylish and compact drive is capable of 8x DVD±R, 8x DVD+RW, 6x DVD-RW, 6x DVD±R DL and 5x DVD-RAM writing speeds and a maximum DVD read speed of 8x. The eNAU608 also supports both LabelTag and LightScribe disc labeling technologies and features an interchangeable top cover, which can be customized to fit a user's style and personality.

CDRLabs has put together a brief review of Hitachi's latest low-power hard drive, the Deskstar 5K3000. Along with a high-speed SATA 6Gb/s interface, the drive features Hitachi's CoolSpin technology which uses a motor speed optimized to provide an ideal balance of performance, power utilization and acoustics. When combined with Hitachi's other power management techniques, CoolSpin technology delivers up to 29 percent lower power and 14 percent quieter acoustics than the Deskstar 7K3000.
