Announcing the RIDATA 150X Write Protect Compact Flash Card

The New Rugged Card Features Up to 8GB Capacity with Write Protection

Note: RITEK invites CES attendees to see the variety of new Ridata brand products for 2008 in the Ritek/Advanced Media booth, #31477, South Hall 3.

Diamond Bar, Calif. -- January 4, 2008-- Advanced Media, Inc., is a manufacturer and marketer of the popular RIDATA brand of recordable CD and DVD media, electronic storage products, and digital media accessories. The company is introducing a series of rugged 150X Compact Flash TM Cards available with Write Protection at CES 2008. Featuring high-speed access to reading and writing with up to 8GB of storage capacity, the write-protected CF card is ideal for virtually any flash media storage application.

"Initially, Advanced Media will focus their marketing efforts for the 150x Write Protected CF Supreme series on the gaming industry for use in slot machines and on manufacturing for industrial applications. We are also evaluating other industries such as photography which may need CF cards with a physical write protect switch," stated Harvey Liu, Advanced Media president. "The card will be available in 1GB to 8GB capacities in Q1 2008. As always the Ridata cards will be competitively priced.

Reliability and Endurance
The rugged write protected card offers long-term reliability and endurance with a Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) of 5,000,000 powered-on hours. It also offers maximum endurance of 100,000 times of program/erase cycles. Its embedded Error Correction Code (ECC) supports two random bits of a sector on-the-fly ECC correction. It can withstand temperature extremes of Operating: 0ºC ~ 70ºC; Non-operating: -20ºC ~ 70ºC and a maximum relative humidity of 95%.

Compatibilities
Ridata's Write Protected Card conforms to the CompactFlash Association Standard, the PC Card standard and is PC Card ATA and true IDE Mode compatible. It is also a host ATA disk I/O BIOS DOS/Windows file system, utilities and application software compatible. The controller supports Ultra DMA Mode to Mode 4.

Power Savings
Another feature of the RIDATA Write Protected CompactFlashTM Card is its low power consumption. In standby or sleep mode with an automatic power management function, users acquire longer battery life from a digital camera or other device. The non-volatile card requires no power to store data but requires a 3.3V/5V single power supply to read and write data.

File Systems
Users of the 1GB - 4GB and 8GB CF cards should use the cards on devices that support a FAT32 file system. Some older devices only support FAT16 file system and these systems have a maximum capacity of a 2GB CF card. Please refer to the owner's manual for the device's file system compatibility.
