I would probably skip the audio cable all together
. If you do, then the drive does not have to decode the digital signal but instead will send the digital info to your sound card via the IDE bus. The advantage is that your sound card generally has a better digital to analog converter (DAC) that will produce a better quality of sound. At least that is my understanding, perhaps someone else on the forum can properly enlighten us. I know that this has been covered before, but for the life of me I cannot find the thread.
