BenQ 4x DVD+R Writer 4212DW

DVDplusRW has updated information in its list of next generation DVD+R/+RW drives models overview. It now includes 4x DVD+R writers from two Taiwanese manufacturers, BenQ and MSI, and one Japanese manufacturer, IO Data. The BenQ 4212DW has specification of 16x CD-R write, 10x CD-RW HighSpeed write, 4.0x DVD+R write, 2.4x DVD+RW write, 40x CD-R and CD-RW read, 12x DVD read, 2MB buffer memory, and Mt. Rainier!

I wonder who's drive technology IO Data licensed. Aren't they like the CenDyne or Pacific Digital of Asia? Just rebadge other companies drives?

Yeah, I think they always rebadge drives like Buffalo / Melcoinc. by companies like Pioneer, Sanyo, Ricoh, and so on. I haven't seen any exception. Also, only for the Japan's domestic market.
