Book type set


Book type set

Hello All,
I have been using my Nec 2510 for the past three months and everything oging weel except the book type setting. the drive is set for dvd+R. This causes compatibility issues. I am wondering If someone can help me to set up the book type to DVD-ROM. I am currently using NECs orignal firmware 2.16. Hope some one can help me with this soon.

Install MadDog(8XDL) firmware 2.F7 from tdb.rpc1.org.
It's a NEC 2510 clone.

With the WinBtype.exe utility or with DVDInfoPro you should be able to set DVD-ROM has current booktype for DVD+R single and double layered.

THANK YOU. I cant believe, you are this much helpfull. No one responded to my request.But you are able to guide me through getting the right answer. I followed your advise flashed the drive and set the book type to DVD_ROM. WOW, its AWESOME. the dvd playes in any player flawless. Guys out there, if you have the NEC burner use this, You will be happy and dont have to spend more money to get these features in ur drive.

By the way one small question. The book type set is only for +R? How about -R? Can i set that too?, Please let me know when u have aminuite

booktype is for DVD+R only.
