Cannot connect to file system. InCD servicenot running

Postby Superfreak213 on Mon Feb 02, 2004 9:03 pm

I just stumbled across your site as I was searching the net to help me answer a question.

Just recently, I've been getting the error message on boot-up, "Cannot connect to file system. InCD service not running".

I can't seem to find much info on what or why this is happening. I have come across some info that says an update from Norton could be the problem, but I just need to know if there is anything that I can do to rectify this.

Oh yeah, and for the record, I'm no computer guru, but I'm not clueless either :)

I've got that, too. Happens on bootup since I went from dialup to DSL.

If I leave my DSL modem off when I boot and then turn it on after everything else loads, I'm OK. Then turn on modem after loading is done.

If I tweak the registry to not load InCD on boot and leave modem on during boot, I'm OK. Then manually start InCD when all else loads.

Your are not clearing explain your present Nero installation, if you have previously installed Nero INCD and geting missing file massege after booting your computer then this is an indication that one file necesary for the INCD to operate is missing in your Windows System Directory. If that is the case you have to manually get into your registry and delete any reference to INCD reboot your computer and install the Nero INCD again if you need it.

TCAS,

You must be responding to SF, not me. Do a search, I posted this problem last Sept. or Oct. when I got DSL. I've tried all those things that you suggest to no avail. There is no missing file when you read my post as InCD works fine when I diddle with my boot sequence.

But, then, TCAS may have a different problem with the same result.

Slim;

You are right I was refering to Superfreak213 question but you got there faster than I am. The solution I described worked for me with same nature of the problem back in few months ago. You are right also that different people might have different problem in which requires spacific solution.

Well, Buckaroos,

I just installed InCD 4.1.5.7 and everything is OK. The conflict between my DSL modem and InCD loading is now resolved!

My appreciation to David Burg.
