CMC grabs niche market (holographic media.)

Postby RJW on Tue Feb 08, 2005 10:08 am

A long with the info on the front page digitimes mentions that CMC will support Optware's Holographic media system.

For more info on the HVD Alliance check the followeing link.
http://www.optware.co.jp/english/what_050203.html

As people can see CMC, FUJI, Pulstec,Nippon Paint,TOAGOSEI.
For more info on the compannies and why they form a interresting combination at this time see the link..

A few years (yeah optware has been raveing about this technology of them for allmost 3 years) ago I thought that they would have a hard time compared to technologies that are develloped by bigger compannies. However with the above compannies supporting it. It might seem that Holographic media will be a even bigger battle ground as DVD and the blue ray follow up systems.

Maxell is in on Holographic media as well :wink:

...or so their road map seemed to imply
Punch Cards -> Paper Tape -> Tape Drive -> 8" Floppy Diskette -> 5 1/4" Floppy Diskette -> 3 1/2" "Flippy" Diskette -> CD-R -> DVD±R -> BD-R
