Disc-At-One/96 write method in Nero

Postby Garathor on Thu Feb 05, 2004 1:06 pm

In Nero (I use, there is a write method named Disc-At-One/96. What is it?

The Nero manual claims that it is better to use the Disc-At-One/96 write method when you are copying CDs. Is this true, and why?

I'm not sure exactly but I believe it increases the compatibility of the CD being able to be played on various optical drives.

Just for good measure I select that setting anyways.

clicking the ? button gives this info on the pull-down:
This mode is useful for createing CDs with several sessions.

This is the preferred method for copying CDs or burning high quality audio CDs. Using Disc-At-Once you can also burn CD-Text information on audio CDs (if supported by the drive).

This mode has all the benefits of Disc-At-Once but in addition you can burn all kinds of non standard-disc. You can also burn CD-Text information on every kind of audio disc (including CD-Extra and Mixedmode CDs). Note that not all recorders support this mode.

i don't see any need to use this ordinarily.

Some GAMES and other CDs you try and copy have data located in the R-W SubChannel and using DAO/96 insures this information is also copied over to the CD you create.

Normal audio and Data CD's would not need the DAO/96 copy option, but if you are not sure what your CD contains, it's best to just use the DAO/96 option to insure a complete copy of any CD.
