DOS based Firmware updater for Teac 516-EB?

Postby paps33 on Sun Mar 30, 2003 6:35 pm

I have an old Teac W516EB writer. There is a new firmware update available for this drive which I would like to install. Teac (only) provides a Windows based firmware installer. Unfortunately my writer is attached to an NT4 system and the firmware installer does not support NT (or Win95). They (Teac) do provide the bin file in the install package. Does anyone know of a DOS based installer available that would work for this drive (from Teac or generic)?

Sorry, there's no DOS firmware update utility for any TEAC writer.

You should only install newer firmware if you experience problems...

Oh well. Figured there was something maybe generic. I wanted to apply the new update so as to be able to read media the update allows the 516 to, which I've created using other drives I have.
