I am looking for some suggestions for dual platform external writer that runs under Firewire (because the PowerBook does not have USB 2.0) that I will use mainly for Music (MP3 and Red Book). What's important is quality, sound quality, drivers, and use of software. Speed is not the biggest thing. I think I'd rather be slower and have better sound and reliability.
It's been recommended that I look the Yamaha CRW-F1 DX. The review looks pretty impressive. Any users out there that are satisfied? Are there any other suggestions for quality units and compatibility. Remember, I'm using firewire on the Mac and compatibility on both systems is very important for me.
