DVD media confusion

In the past, I used strictly Fuji 8X +/-R made in Japan. However, now with "made in japan" media practically extinct in US retail stores, I'm trying to find other reliable media. I've been using Verbatim 16X -Rs, and so far they seem to be pretty good. Any other recommendations? I haven't been following the media codes craze. With manufactures using fake codes, and brands switching OEMs on a regular basis, I just don't know what to buy.

I prefer to use -Rs, and the media should be reliable enough to be used for data backup. My trusty stock of Fuji TY 8x -R is running real low.

Hello!

I would recommend Verbatim DVD-R 8x and 16x, good media with proper stability. TY 16x -R looks pretty good, too.
