i am having the following trouble with this drive, if i burn a CD on my old plextor 16/10/40a (using memorex media) and then try and read it in my dwu10a the drive 'sees' an blank disk. However i can see the data fine using this drive (plextor) as the reader.
i can use the same media in the drive(dwu-10a) do a burn and then see the data on the dwu10a fine. i have the same trouble with Verbatim Datalife plus CDR, although CDRW appear to be fine and also very old verbatim CDR (the blue dye ones) seem to be ok. I have a friend with a new samsung combo drive who is having exactly the same trouble reading CD's that would work in older drives but not these new drives.
The firmware in the dwu-10a is 1.1d
Anybody help me out here? TIA
