External USB 1.1 CDRW recommendation

Postby Null on Sun Feb 16, 2003 9:36 pm

Hi all:
A friend asked me to recommend him an external CDRW but he's only got USB 1.1
Which would you think it'd be the best?

Thanks you all.

I recommend that he gets a USB 2.0 PCI card.

It's a laptop... and a PCMCIA card is way too expensive, thanks anyway
Any other thoughts?

He can still buy and use the newer USB 2.0 CD-RW drives. However, the speed will be restricted to a max of 4x write and 4x re-write.

I don't think they sell pure USB 1.1 CD-RW's anymore. You may consider getting a used model at ebay.
