Fry's Electronics: awesome HD DVD & Blu-ray prices

Postby Wesociety on Fri Jul 06, 2007 8:08 pm

I just picked up The Goodfellas HD DVD for $13.99 at Fry's Electronics.

They also had a few other HD DVD's and Blu-ray Discs priced at $13.99.
In addition, there were some Sony Entertainment Blu-ray titles on sale 2 for $25.

Apparently, they have different titles on sale each week. I remember seeing an ad last week showing Full Metal Jacket on HD DVD for $13.99.

With these prices, I'll have to start checking the Fry's ads weekly now for HD DVD sales. 8)

Do they have any HD-15 titles for that price? I need to pick one up for my tests.

I'm sure that one of the sale titles will eventually be an HD-15 disc, but I don't have a list of what titles are HD-15...
Probably the early ones released in 2006.

Not many of those out there, and most are combo's which tend to cost more. A few for you to keep an eye out for are The Jerk, Liar Liar, The Nutty Professor & Army of Darkness(re-issue) are non-combo DVD-15's.

So is Christmas Vacation and Happy Gilmore. Is the reissue of AoD out yet?

The AoD re-issue came out a couple weeks ago. Not sure if I'll pick up the HD-DVD, I have too many version's on DVD already. Best version I do have is the R3 DVD version, with the longest available cut anywhere, 5.1 audio, and better picture quality than the NA dvds.
