Graphics Problem

Postby Rpbertxyz on Thu Aug 07, 2003 9:41 am

I put a AMD system together for my grandson with a ATI 9000 Pro video card. It seems when he's in a single shooter program the gun is flashing and there are traces of black lines coming from the gun. Does anybody know what the cause is?

Thank You Bob H.

Did you install the latest Radeon drivers from ATI? Unless the card is physically damaged, you will probably be able to fix the problem by removing your current video drivers (there are utilities that can help you "clean up" your video drivers) and installing the most recent stable drivers.

I had done a clean install of the newest drivers, removing all of the old drivers and I am using the latest ATI drivers for the 9000 Pro for Windows 98. The video card works fine in all other programs.

Thank You Bob H.

Which do you prefer, using AGP or PCI for my video card??? I am planning to upgrade my VIDEO, but I can't decide which port should I use. What's the advantage og using AGP compared to PCI???
