Postby excalibur on Thu Apr 17, 2003 6:52 am

Ten days ago i buy a asus 52x24x52.
It have the last firmware vers., (16-4-2003).
The review in same magazines are very good, but...
But I'm very frustrted with it :(((
My pc freeze when i launch nero or cdclone a lot of times...
When nero make the verify session it give error...
The system tray is very fragile when i compare it with my old mitsumi!

Its wise change it with the lg 8520B?

Thanks a lot!

I don't have any personal experience with either drive, but a lot of people around here report that they are quite happy with their LG drives.

In regard to the freezing, you should probably get the latest Nero update from Ahead's web site. You might also update your firmware from Asus's web site.

Oops; sorry I missed that you had the latest FW. In regard to the freezing, does this happen if you remove the drive from the PC and launch the software? What version of Windows are you using?

If you're still having problems, you probably should exchange the drive or buy another model. I have heard good things about the LG 52x and the Lite-On 52x.
