HELP - New Burning ROM Question

Postby Ash on Fri Jul 18, 2003 5:58 pm

Hi - I just bought a BusLinK 52x24x52 CDRW drive (probably AOpen since it says Justlink and JustSpeed on the box). It came with Nero Burning ROM Version 5.5.9.14

I tried to burn some files onto a Verbatim DataLifePlus Ultra Speed (16x-24x) CDRW Media. Everything went fine and I burnt some mp3s along with some data files onto the CDRW. I essentially filled the CDRW to capacity.

Once I was done, I accessed the CDRW and tried to erase some files, but it wouldn't let me do that, giving me an error message that the files were Read-Only and to check whether the disk was write protected. Any idea why it is doing that? I thought the whole idea of a CDRW was to be able to write, erase and re-write data.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks
Ash

Yeah it is. but you need to install another software for that not just nero. you need to install in-cd or nero's packet writing software which i can't recall at the moment. that lets you treat the cdrw as a floppy kinda.

I have InCD on my system. but didn't format the CD using InCD. But does that imply that I can't make any changes to the media, unless I formatted it using InCD? As in, I can't delete any files from the CDRW?

Thanks!

To put it plainly, no you cannot delete individual files from the disc the way it is right now.
