Help!!! my plextor px-712a Won't read DVD media...

It does not matter what kind of DVD I put in, dvd+r, dvd-r Movies blank, PC Games... te LED just Blink amber,,, an the nohing happens, an the LED keeps Blinking amber like everi 5 seconds....How ever It does read and write CD's with no problems... Hope you can help me..Is it damaged.. If so why does it work on Cd's... thanks for your help..

There is a different laser for DVD reading/writing than CD reading/writing, so it's possible the DVD laser is damaged.
