Help with DL DVD transfer

I have 2x 4.7GB DVD's which have recovery software for my laptop. Actually I think the software or files on DVD Disc No. 2 does not even fill up the DVD so its sort of half full.

What I'd like to know if it would be possible to transfer or make 1x DL DVD from these 2x4.7GB DVD's and if so which software can do it.

What format are the backup files in? If the recovery program just looks for files and not disc names, you could copy the files to your hard drive and then a burn a DL disc with the contents of both.

I honestly dont know what format the files are, but all it is, is a Vista Ultimate recovery CD for my Toshiba laptop.

I suppose I could try what you sugested and se how I go.
