How come I dont get prompted with a device listings?

Postby Loop on Mon Mar 17, 2003 8:38 pm

Whever I insert a CD or DVD, I have to manually go to My Computer and double click on the drive in order for the CD/DVD program to start.

But when I use my sister's or dad's setting, once I insert a CD/DVD, it automatically prompts the user what program they want to run the disc (ie WMP for CDs, or Nero to burn, etc.)

Is there a setting I disabled?

I checked the property by going into My Computer and right clicking the drive to make sure it clearly states "Prompt User to determine software".

Help me!

XP...what I mean is that when my sister inserts a disc, a small popup window will ask her what she would like to do: use WMP to play the audio disc, or use Nero, or do nothing.

So when you right-click your optical drives in device manager and select properties, you see this and have it set to "Prompt me each time..."?

What does Nero InfoTool show for Autorun status in the "Configuration" tab?

Do you have InCD or DirectCD or other burning programs like Alcohol 120%, Clone CD, etc. installed?
