Infotool 2.27 doesn't show any writers

I just installed a NEC 3500AG DVD writer, in addition to a Samsung SW-252B . Now when I run Infotool 2.27 after the scan, no recorders are shown in the dropdown box and it's grayed out.
Infotool 1.01 recognizes the 2 drives.

BTW, with v2.x I have to run it in compatibility mode "Windows NT sp5" or else the PC freezes. I have read somewhere that this is the only fix under WinXP.

System:
Asus P4C800, P4 2.4 , 1GB DDR 400, 1 SATA HD , 2 IDE HD, NEC 3500AG firmware 2.17 DVDRW , Samsung 252B CDRW .
WinXP SP2.

Are you using a Promise IDE controller?

I have the same recorder here in the lab, and it is detected by Nero InfoTool 2.27 without any problems.

Is the drive seen by the Nero software?

Hi Craig,
The drive is identified by Nero and works without a problem. It's on a regular IDE controler. I don't have a Promise controller. My system has 4 IDE devices and one SATA drive.
Infotool v2.x doesn/t work, v.1.x works. Also, as I've stated, ever since v2.x I have to run it in compatibilty mode of NT SP5 or it freezes windows.
