 I just got my first cd writer today a Lite On 48426s and have been burning data and audio discs for hours. I got a 50 pack of Fuji Film rainbow 24x cd/rdiscs and they burn at 48x with not an error in the bunch. the info for the discs are.

This Disc is designed for CD-RW/COMBO Drive Only.
Disc Type, Material = CD-R, Cyanine
ATIP Lead-in = 97m 24s 01f
Norminal Capacity = 702.83MB (79m 59s 72f)
Disc Manufacturer maybe = Taiyoyuden,DX Dye
SMART-BURN Speed Limit = 48X

I don't have a place to post pictures for now but I am using Nero
5.5.9.2. and it shows no errors and I am extremly happy playing with the software and made no coasters yet. can anyone suggjest some good cd/rw discs that someone has used for these drives that are 10x or above for not too much denero?
thanks and sorry if I posted in the wrong forum as I am excited and have to post somewhere

The TY media that you have are very good, also try Prodisc (eProformance, Smartbuy) these are really good and cheap, I haven't had any problems with them, the Ritek some times come unbranded, they are good and cheap too, and there are the Verbatim Super Azo 48x 20pack for $5 after MIR, I'm not to sure how they would work on your Lite-on but I have no problems at all with these CD-Rs on my LG 48x24x48.

Look at this thread, bat078, and scroll down until you see your drive: Lite-On LTR-48246S. The results given will tell you exactly what media burns well in your drive. The number on the far right is the maximum successful burn speed (i.e. with no errors).
