Laptop DVD Burners

Postby Epicman on Sun Feb 27, 2005 9:17 pm

Does anyone have a recommendation for internal DVD burners for laptops? I have a Gateway M675 and my 2x drive is killing me.

I was looking at the NEC drive, but from what I have read it reads DL media at only 5x.

That 6500 seems to be a good drive, there is also the Lite-On SOSW852S and a Pioneer 8X drive as well.

I don't usually say things like this, but stay away from the SOSW-852S/SX. While Lite-On says it will write DVD's at 8x, it currently does not support any media at that speed.
