msi dragon writer 52x cr52-a2

Postby xfinity on Fri Aug 01, 2003 9:39 pm

hey

I just got the msi dragon writer for my computer and everything works perfectly with it except one thing. The drive burns 700 mb cdrs without a hitch and fast at that but i just got some of those mini-cdrs from my friend (the 185 MB/21 minute ones) and the drive fails to burn them. I have another computer with an old 16x plexwriter and it can burn them. I use nero and when i try to burn i get an error message (fixation error). I've checked to see if the media itself was bad but it still worked on the plexwriter.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

most of the small discs are really crappy media. Fixation error can refer to a media problem.

So if I bought more compatible media, such as memorex theres a greater chance it would work with my drive?

I can't say what works with your drive, but Memorex would be my last choice. The small CDR's are likely all made by the same factory. I use nothing but Fuji for important stuff.

I have a 4x Memorex Mini-CD-RW disc, and it's made by CMC.

I'd recommend trying some Fuji CD-Rs instead.
