New firmware for Liteon 163D.

It has been a firmware bonanza lately! :)
My two LiteOn LTR-52246S drives (one Memorex and one Buslink), my Sony DRU-500A, my Pioneer A05 have all had very recent (last week or so) updates, and now my LTD163 DVD-ROM drive as well!
There were actually TWO firmware release for the A05 very recently (one official - 1.30 - and one hacked to burn Ritek 1X at 2X).
Burners only:
Pioneer DVR-115D
Pioneer DVR-111D
Plextor PX-716A TLA0304
Plextor PX-716A same TLA
LiteOn 52246S 52X CD-RW
LiteOn 52246S (another)
LiteOn 52327S 52X CD-RW

About 3 months ago I flashed my 163D to GHR7. It was the special LiteOn string version of GHR7 though.

Is there going to be a modified GHR8 with the LiteOn drive string?
When I run GHR8 it says "drive mismatch" or something to that effect, which must be because the name is JLMS and not LiteOn now...

Yes I was warning for that at the time. Just use the binary ghr8 and flash it with mtkwinflash. It will become a Jlms. Sooner or later you'll have to get used to this name :D and you won't get this problem in future upgrades.

Yes I knew that was possible, I just like the LiteOn name :)

Where can one get this new firmware?

I can't find any references to DVD ROM's on LiteON's own website.

That's because LiteOn doesn't make DVD-ROM drives. :wink: You need to get JLMS firmware:

(LiteOn formed a joint venture with JVC for the DVD-ROM business)
