LOL. Yes, toward a fund for a new, stronger shelf to hold your drives before the current one buckles. ;)

I was thinking about the profits earlier today:
Thanks to ebay's listing fees (extra for bold etc.), final value fee, PayPal
fees, it will not exactly be a ton of money, percentagewise it will be a great return, but dollarwise, it won't be a windfall LOL; it all depends on what it sells for.
Nevertheless, it will be nice.
My goal is to use the proceeds toward a second 16X burner, since my PCs are on two different floors in my home and it would be a lot more convenient to be able to burn on both of course.
I have spent so much on the house renovations and also on holiday / birthday gifts, that I am trying to save a little here and there; this way I don't feel guilty spending more on a 2nd burner. ;)
I also took my parents out for dinner on Monday, which was yet another
$100 quickly spent.
But they deserve it; I feel I owe them a lot more actually.

EDIT:
Wow, sold already.
Maybe my BIN was too low. Originally had it at $52.99, then changed it to $49.99
Heck I am not complaining.

Hox's price is even lower, although he will avoid ebay fees if he sells it here of course...

I forgot to mention that I included the Teons; so that reduces my drive sale price / profit by about $4.

VEFF, the included media made that price a steal to the average consumer, plus the brand name and your feedback record.

My Sapphire Radeon 9700 (non-pro) 128MB with a VGA Silencer and OCZ BGA Ramsinks didn't last an hour at the $115.00 Buy It Now price. On the other hand, my mainboard/cpu/hsf took the whole week. Ended a bit short of BIN price of $100, but at $84.50 (MSI K7N2 Delta-ILSR, Athlon 1600+, Globalwin HSF) it's about where I expected it.

I always put Buy It Now prices just a slight step above what I expect to get. There's a lot of people who are willing to pay another $5-10 to guarantee a purchase or to end an auction early and get a product sooner.

Wow, (one or) two people paid $80?
Well, good for you! :)
How did you get tax exempt status? I am aware that you're a Staples employee if that is why, but I didn't know that was one of the benefits.

By the way the rebate form says "enclose copy of the UPC".
I already said that the UPC was going to be cut, but I wouldn't mind
leaving it on, as long as they will definitely honor the rebate.
What do you think? I haven't had too many times that a copy of the UPC was accepted (maybe once before).

I will of course make a a few extra copies of the rebate receipt and UPC code (along with serial number section of box) to be safe.

You're right; what made me lower the BIN price was seeing 16X Sony burners selling for only $5 - $10 more...
I didn't want to be greedy, although the PayPal fees, ebay listing fees, ebay final value fees will eat into the profit somewhat.

As you said, the feedback record, TEONs helped make it a steal to the average consumer who doesn't have time, energy or perhaps knowledge to bargain hunt.
The low shipping probably helped too.
Many seem to go for about $15 if I recall correctly.

Well time to set up my new 802.11g network...
$10 AR at CUSA for a Motorola 802.11g wireless router
and another $10 AR for a USB 2.0 wireless adapter.
I skipped the PCMCIA card, since my nice Vaio laptop is collecting dust and I doubt I would use it much to surf the web snce the keyboard isn't quite as good as my those of my desktops and the touchpad is not as convenient as a mouse...

Unfortunately it is 3 rebates per item!
But for that price what the heck...

6 months ago the package price before $100 in mail-in rebates probably wouldn't even have been that bad.

Ah, so you sold them for $80 with a $30 MIR for the buyers?
Now their having paid $80 makes more sense.

Thanks (regarding the UPC).
I think I'll send the copy, since that is what they specifically requested.
To be safe, I will probably keep the original though (instead of leaving it intact and shipping it to the buyer along with the rest of the box), just in case they give me a hard time, although the terms DO state "send a copy" in two places; "original" is never mentioned.

One way or aother I should be fine.
I would have preferred it if it were an Easy Rebate though. :)

Oh okay...
I thought you would want to submit one and get $30, unless you already plan on doing that.

Anyway, I hope my Fuji discs arrive soon...

By the way, I just reread my listing.
I got a good internal laugh from it; I think I really "marketed" this drive a bit too much LOL:
"perfect feedback"
"lowest BIN"
"free discs alone sell for $24.98"
"low reserve"
"low shipping; compare to others"

Then again it is all true...
