News of CD-R/CD-RW Drives

Hi all. Please, help me. I have just updated from version 1.0c to 1.0f, but Win XP simply refused to boot after this update. Instead, it started a process of "looping": when the "new hardware" (cd/rom) was about to be recognized a blue fatal screen appeared and the process of "looping" started again, again and again. Any ideas ? I had to remove the Yamaha from my computer, and I´m now affraid to install it ...

Well people i have finally setteled down to buy a new cd writer
but the thing is today i opened up my pc cabinet to see if i have all the wires required i have all the wires for the writer i.e the y type data cable and the power cable but there is one wire i.e the audio cable this one is connected to my samsung cd rom to my sound card

I posted a question on this forum earlier, Which Master and Which Slave re the connection of CD-ROM's and CD-RW's.

Now if I set my CD-RW as the Master and the CD-ROM as the Slave, does this mean if I install an OS, and have to boot or install from CD-ROM, then I have to place or put that reqd CD-ROM into the CD-RW drive, as it being the Master drive.

Hopefully this will not be a repost. I have seached several forums for the answer to my question including this one and cdrinfo without finding an answer or solution. So here we go... :o

I have the forementioned CD-RW drive (Memorex 52MAXX) and have never been able to break the 16X barrier with several 52X,48X, 40X, and 32X media including the 52X multispeed CD-R the drive came ...

I found a box of older cd-rw media in my closet the other day, Memorex 80 min 4x CD-RW.... Nero will burn these fine but it locks the speed at 4x and won't let me turn it up (10x is the max for my liteon 24102b). Is there any way to trick nero into coughing up higher rewrite speeds? I'm just spoiled and there is no way I want to spend half an hour to ...

I've burned probably 300 CDs so far on my 48X burner here. Now, after about the 4th CD, it sounds like it has trouble spinning up to begin the burn process. If I keep on burning, eventually it gets to the point where the burner sounds like it just keeps on trying to spin-up, but can't, and the burn will never begin.

This all goes away if I let the burner "rest" for a bit. ...

I'm new here and this may have previously been answered, but I'll ask anyways...

I'm real big into trading Dave Matthews Band shows and people are real picky on having their shows DAO instead of TAO. Now, on Nero, you can pick DAO at the stage before you click on "Write." Now I've done this, but it still seems to create the cd using TAO and has the normal 2 second skip before each song. ...

I just got an MSI MS-8348A DragonWriter 48/16/48 CD-RW but when i try and use a 90min CD-R it is recognised as an 80min one using the medium information option in nero. I have installed the latest firmware but it seemed to have no effect, any ideas?

You are connecting a CD-RW and a CD-ROM drive both on the same IDE cable, to IDE 2 port.

Now which would you set as a master, and which would you set as a slave ?
