News of CD-R/CD-RW Drives

I've noticed that on certain discs, EAC will not allow me to copy the image and create a CUE sheet - why is that?

Normally, I put the disc in, retrieve the CD info from "freedb," then I select "Copy Image & Create CUE Sheet" and it "asks" me where I want to write the file.

But on certain discs, when I select "Copy Image & Create CUE Sheet," the screen just flashes once and ...

Every time I stop the CD and press play again, it starts where I left off. How can I get it to start at the beginning every time? It doesn't seem like there is any way to shut the bookmark mode off completely.

i just had to change soundcards as my old one got damaged by yours
truly.i replaced it with soundblaster audigy se my old one was live.im
using mad dog muilmedia cd burner.ive tested the speakers and they
work fine.when i play a cd either cdrw,cdr,or store bought music cds
the sound is scratchy,it skips,the speed varies.how can i fix this?its
probably a config problem.thanks

Using windows explorer I copy an entire folder including subfolders to a cd-rw disc. All the files copied to the disc are marked read only but the files copied from are not read only.

This seems to be an intermittent problem because I have CD-RWs that have been written without having the read only attribute on the cd.

The drive is listed in Device Manager as: HL-DT-ST rw/dvd GCC-4482B

The copy was done by administrator. ...

Now hitting the mastering stage on my CD; & was thinking about buying Gear Pro...which is an audio mastering app that can take an assembled track list & create a DDP image.

My replication house doesn't do FTP...they accept DDP on exabyte (1/4") tape & CD-R. They also accept CD-DA on CD-R.

I'm not going out & spending 2 grand on an exabyte machine...

I'm curious to know if there exists some kind of a machine or drive that can hold many cds (like, say, a spindle of 100) for the purpose of copying audio CDs onto a computer. I happen to have thousands that I would like to copy, but don't feel like sitting by my computer all day and all night to do it.
