In looking to get an external dvd writer with dvd-ram cartridge support, I came across the following link by CDRlabs http://www.cdrlabs.com/News/buffalo-ann ... pport.html for a writer made by Buffalo. In trying to buy a unit, I found that they are not offered in the U.S. I was told by Buffalo that even if I bought one from Japan, it wouldn't be supported in the U.S. I found another site ...

I am not sure if this is a drive or O/S problem. I'm running Vista 64bit, and sometimes when I press the eject button on the drive, the drive starts to eject, then immediately closes the tray. I have to push eject button again to open the tray.

What would be causing this problem? Some software that is hooked into the system?

I came across the Pioneer DVR-A18M at Best Buy today. I had no idea that Pioneer had released a 22x DVD writer in the US.. let alone one that supports LabelFlash. It appears to be a retail version of the DVR-118L.

I'm currently after a SONY DL drive for my machine, which is all IDE.

I'd really like the AD 7241S,,,, but as far as I can see, it only comes with SATA interface.

OK, here's a question for you.

I BELIEVE I just purchased a Pioneer 2920Q.

The drive identifies itself as a DVR-216R.

Is that what the 2920Q identifies itself as, or did they send me the wrong drive?

Plextor LLC has officially announced its new 24x DVD writers. Along with the internal PX-880SA, the company is introducing an external USB model, the PX-880U. The two drives support PlexUTILITES, PlexERASE and LightScribe and are capable of 24x DVD±R, 12x DVD±R DL and 12x DVD-RAM writing speeds.

I've got a problem with my Lg GSA H22N that I hope someone can help me with. I haven't been able to get it to read/play disks. Anytime I put any kind of disk (CD, DVD etc) for it to read, my computer crashes and reboots. I have no idea what's going on. When I first got the drive, it burned dvds really slowly ( I think it took about 1 1/2 hrs ...

Vote for what you think is the best, all around DVD writer. By doing so, you'll hopefully help those looking to buy a new drive. Once again, I tried to chose original drive designs that are currently available or will be soon.
