I finally got everything to work correctly. (including DirectCD 5)

This is what i have.

CD-Burner: Lite-On LTR-24102B (24/10/40) (with latest firmware 5S5A)

Operating System: Windows XP Professional (not SP1)

CD-Burning Software:

Roxio EasyCD Creator 5 (install first - without rebooting) - then install the latest update "Updates Easy CD Creator 5.0x Platinum to version 5.3.2 - ecdc_v5.3.2.34_plt_enu.exe"

The CDRW I used for packet-writting is: 700MB (80Min), CMC Magnetics 10X CDRW (16X read, ...

I :) I'm awared there are lots of articles about this two programmes
co-existence. Can somebody help me with this problems. I'm running
win2000 w/ sp2. I getting errors at the end of burning process with nero 5+, it says "failed to close burning process". I only have direct CD
installed.

Here's a funny one.

I used Direct CD 2.0 to format a 24x US-RW disc on a 52/24/52. I had to give up and stop it after 2 hours! :o

I can format a 10x HS-RW on a 24/10/40 drive in 10 mins!

I'll try formatting the 24x RW in the slower 10x drive and then put it back on the faster one to see how it ...

Has anyone else experienced this?

Good thing I still have the previous update, or maybe I'll just do a system restore.

I also run windows xp pro retail, roxio 5.0 that came with the drive says that its not support and it gives me errors when i even open the program! I tried upgrading and it still didnt work (5.1). To make matters worse, when I use nero I can only choose 32x, 16x... down to 8x, my cds i purchased a while ago only support up to 4x burn, how can i lower the burn ...

I have upgrade EZCD 5 Platinum from 5.x to 5.1.0.104, but it still cannot see my new Teac 40X12X48b CDR drive. I checked on the supported recorder on Roxio website, it indicates that this drive is compatible with 5.1b. So does that mean I have to wait for future update, and 5.1.0.104 is different from 5.1b?

It turns up that DirectCD's latest update on the Roxio site is a full version.
You can install it on any system, regardless if it has ever had DirectCD or any Roxio/Adaptec software on it or not!
No serial number required or anything.
