Hi,
I'm in trouble!
I have an old 166 Pentium with a relatively small HD of only 4GIG. For the last 8 months or so I've been freeing up my HD by archiving as much as I can on CD-RW's with a new SAMSUNG RW 52-24-52 drive. The CD-RW's have been burnt using InCD.
O.S. is Windows 98.
So, far it's been working really well. I have 4 x CD-RW's (Verbatim) with my C & D Drives backed-up & regularly backing up OK every 2-3 weeks or so.
One of the CD-RW's is being used exclusively for my railroad photos; so far over 1,000 of them. Most are .jpg & just a few .bmp. I've been adding to them regularly & unfortunately no longer have them on my HD.
But all of a sudden, last week I was about to add 20 more; inserted the CD-RW & the computer just hang. Ended up after ages of looking at an hour glass; the horrible blue screen.
I've tried using windows explorer, various graphics programmes and it's always the same. I can only start explorer or a graphics programme before I put in the disc. Then as soon as I close the disc tray, the whole system freezes up.
The computer will only come good after I eject the disc & reboot.
What can any one suggest I do?
Once again, HELP!!
