Oldschool Philips Firmware Problemmo

Postby joelati on Mon Nov 17, 2003 6:08 am

 I hate this stinking old burner!
I have a massive problem. I've stuffed up the firmware on my old cdd4201 philips burner using the proper philips flashtool utility. I did exactly what I was meant to do, but when I restarted my machine, then burner was identified as something very strange in the bios, and was not recognised in windows XP. So naturally I can't flash it again because the flashtool utility won't detect it either. Any suggestions?

Regards,
Joel

Is the burner still detected as something strange if you turn off the computer and wait for a minute or two before turning it back on again?
