Installed the drive, newer firmware then pioneer offers

figured out the whole bluray movie image burning thing

you really only need 2 programs if your end goal is to play .mkv, BDMV folders, or .iso of bluray images

mkv2vob to transcode mkv to m2ts (which plays fine on ps3 and other bluray players) and imgburn to burn those BDMV, .iso, .m2ts files

if you wanted to rip bluray movies that you own use anydvd HD then imgburn to burn those files
