very funny.

very silly.

it's well known that this DVD-ROM drive is rebadged (prbly Mitsumi).

and as i recall it's not a very good drive either.
so for the purpose of "having an all Plextor computer" you're willing to sacrifice quality and performance?

Nice setup!

Isn't the PX-116 a Pioneer drive? That's not so bad...

My ideal setup:
Plextor PX-708A (better yet: a Plextor DVD+R DL drive!)
Plextor Premium
Lite-On 166S

What I got:
Lite-On 166S
Lite-On 52327S (Crap. Absolute crap..at least over 40x)
Optorite DD0401 - Good, but not a Plex. But then, Plextor doesn't have HD-BURN
Soon to be proud user of Mandrake 10 (again!). SuSE 9 sucks!

Yeah, it's a Pioneer. That was one of the selling points. Having a Plextor all computer is nice, (mostly for looks) but I hear Pioneer makes kick ass DVD-ROM drives, so now I can find out from my own expirience. dodecahedron, did you get my last line of hebrew there?

my bad.

i got mixed up with the "Plextor" PX-54TA which is a rebadged Mitsumi.

i guess i should eat my previous words to aviationwiz, as i presume the Pioneer DVD-ROM drive is reasonably good.

OK, i'm eating my words! :o :)

still though, such persistence and tenacity in keeping loyalty to a brand... :o

i was wondering the same thing

it may be HORRIBLE lighting, but what color is your case. it doesn't seem to go well. Just like my DRU500A did not go well in black case

avaiationwiz, to be honest i hadn't noticed this until Ian and Monte asked.

i understand the Hebrew words, but don't understand what you had meant.
the sentence doesn't make sense to me.
(and if it means what i think it means, it's a bit harsh in response to Ian's joke, don't you think?)

Maybe it would have be Lo Ghenom? Not quite sure, but I think you knew what I meant. Maybe a tad harsh for the joke, but nonetheless funny.

For those of you that are wondering, it means "Hell No." Or at least that's what I meant to say, and I think I got it right...

well, Hell No = Gehenom Lo if words are translated literally.

but this sentence doesn't make much sense in Hebrew. i was thinking Hebrew (not literally translated English) and so didn't understand.

not harsh really.

what i had originally thought you had meant was something else (and much nastier). from the word "Lo" having more than one meaning...
