At the end of any write attempt, Nero will ask you if you wish to create a Nero Log file. At this time you would say yes, and state where to save it and a name to give it. It will default to log.txt.

If you forgot to save it, then you can go to the Nero Directory located at C:\Program Files\Ahead\Nero and there you will find a file called NeroHistory.log and this is a complete history off all your write attempts with our Nero software.

You can send this to me at techsupport4@nero.com

Hello CCampbell!

If you have seen the NeroHistory.log that I have sent to the address you gave me and thought that it was a bad/unusable *.log file I gave you just tell me about it and I can send another one that is better.

But if you thought that it was a bad *.log and want to have a better and more useful *.log when you are trying to figure out the problem I have when I am erasing a DVD disc tell me about how you think I should do/how you want me to use Nero, so I can make a *.log file that is so useful for you as possible.

this is inaccurate, the correct comparison should be InCD with DirectCD. and i'm sure many (including die-hard Nero fans) would agree with you that in this case Ahead come out less favorably.

Ayup, I just gor Easy Media Creator 7 on Wednesday.

Drag2Disk is superior to InCD in every way I've examined.

I did find one bug in D2D, but there's a workaround and I expect that Roxio will issue a fix bat some reasonable point.

Full format of CD-RW doesn't work.
For example:

1. Erase a CD-RW.
2. Do a Quick Format. THis works.
3. Erase.
4. Do a Full format. Does not work. Claims media has too many errors.
5. To recover the media, use InCD to Erase, then Full format.

Roxio has not yet confirmed this to be a bug.

I've not tried with an unused medium.

Since I have a multiboot system, I can have Ahead and one system and Roxio on another to have the best/worst of both critters.[

See http://boards.support.roxio.com/roxio/board/message?board.id=705&message.id=30.

i don't understand what you mean by "erase" and "format".
when you way "erase" do you mean erase (blank) a CDRW by Nero or ECDC? (item #5???)

Full format doesn't work - sounds like a pretty serious bug! :o

Format means to prepare the CD-RW medium for packet writing by such as InCD.

Erase means to prepare it for premastering such as Nero (which makes it look to Nero as if were a fresh, out of the cake can CD-R).

i just wanted to make sure the by Erase he meant Erase as in Nero or Easy CD Creator.
there is no Erase option in InCD and DirectCD/DratToDisc AFAIK.

Actually, if you right-click on the Drive letter that contains the ReWritable media, you will get an option for InCD 4 Erasing the media. You have the option to do a Quick Erase or a Full Erase. :)

Both InCD and Drag2Disk have erase options.

Both. By right-clicking on the drive letter with the ReWritable media in it, you get the option for quick/full FORMAT and quick/full ERASE.
