Anyone using the MythTV app?

Postby BurninMan921 on Tue Mar 09, 2004 7:58 pm

Just wondering...it looks freaking awesome! PVR, MP3, DVD playback/rip/transcode (ala-DVD-Shrink), emulator/game frontend, weather...jeez! And best of all? It's freeware! Gotta love that!

I can't wait to try this thing out! Man, I gotta get me a tv card. Now, if the stupid download would just go faster, I can wipe my HDD, install a good OS, and try this baby out! Think Mandrake 10 and this are a good combo? :)

To say the least! Especially usefull since I'm about to build a new PC just for DivX/PVR use.

Looks like there's a couple of Linux distro's with MythTV pre-installed. Including one for the X-Box. Hmm.... Should be handy since it looks like a massive pain in the a$$ to install. Oh well, can't be worse then Gen-Too.

Oh yeah...welcome back! :)

I'm downloading Mandrake 10 Community right now (it's basically 10.0 beta). It's supposed to have a lot of enhancements...

I have been using Linux on and off for a few years. I for the life of me cant get Mandrake 9 to use my nforce2 sound system at all.If it would work in that aspect I would be a dedicated linux user with vmware to run windows apps.I run debian linux on my xbox no problems. This mythtv looks awesome and is tempting me to download mandrake 10 :) Next certification for me is Linux +.

I think the ATI All-In-Wonders can capture to any video format you have a codec installed for...
