Nero 5.5.10.9 for Lite-On 851S???

Nero 5.5.10.9 for Lite-On 851S???

I got this version with my Lite-On CD Burner (52X version) and it says right on the CD "The software will only work with the CD-recorder it came bundled with." Does this mean it won't work with the 851S DVD burner or maybe only burn CDs with this burner? Can I install it anyway and then get a free upgrade from Nero? Thanks for any help.

It will only work with the 52x Liteon CD Burner. You will have to purchase and upgrade from Ahead for Nero 6 for $49.99 for the download. If you want to get the box, it will cost $89.99 plus $9 for shipping/handling.

Your other option is to get the retail box from Bestbuy for $59.99+tax($79.99 - $20 mail-in-rebate).

You can download an upgrade to the latest Nero 5 for free. But, it will still only work with the Liteon 52x burner.

If you want to use a version that will work with both drives, then you will have to upgrade to Nero 6 since Ahead does not sell serial numbers for Nero 5 anymore that will work with any drive.
