I just picked up the 25 pack of Verbatim DVD-R ($27.99) at BestBuy. They are Verbatim's "Digital Movie" line of disks. (The ones where the image on the disk resembles a movie reel.)

They seem to work OK, in my Pioneer A06.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure...

Anybody know if the NEC 2500A will write those Verbatims at 8x?

I've heard they were MCC-made discs, but that's all I know.

Yep, the Verbatim DVD-Rs are MCC discs, made in Taiwan. They look exactly like the old made in Singapore MCC DataLifePlus discs I have (silver ring around the very, very outside edge), and I've heard they ARE Datalifeplus discs, just with a different coating.

I'd say they're a fairly hot deal. Lifetime warranty, even (usually a sign of a quality disc.. not always, but it helps!).

Justin42 is correct they are MCC disks (MCC 01RG20). The label says "made in Taiwan."

Are these Mcc just as good as the quality Mcc disks you can buy? Mcc quality stuff. I just want to know if this is the same quality stuff. The Taiwan thing throws me off. I though Mcc was made in Singapore and Japan?

Could somone please help me out here?

These are 4x discs aren't they?
