I am getting the same error as mentioned at the start of this thread. I am running W2KPro with a Sony CRX-160E CR-RW burner, and use new Verbatim CD-RW discs. I have been in touch with Ahead tech support for two weeks via email and have installed (and reinstalled and rinstalled) the lasted registered versions. I have used Ahead's purge tool to remove any last ruminants of Roxio (I have used Adaptec/Roxio DirectCD before). And reinstalled Nero again with key(after using Adhead's complete removal tool). I have cleaned the registry and have shut down all other programs via task manager and still get the error. The last response from Ahead was to run on another commuter and reinstall the Windows on this computer. Everything else works fine so I am not going to reinstall Windows 2kPro again.
Any suggestions? Oh yes, the quick burn features work fine with Nero-only the InCD.

What is the speed of the CD-RW media from verbatim you are using? (1-4x, or high speed, or ultra speed, or ultra speed plus?)

1-4X (2-4X listed on the CD-RW)

Sorry, but I will not be able to fix that defect. The only sample we have of this old device seems defective. At computer's boot time, the controller where the device is attached to complains about it. I've tried several computers, so the device looks pretty dead.
