I had considered a 30" 2-3/4" but ultimately decided on a 28" 3" because I may well take it hunting. Personally I can't stand O/Us. I tried on about 8-10 O/Us and and another 8/10 semi-autos. I would use my 870 for trap if I didn't feel like I was giving up familiarity in training for going to a different game that required action a bit faster than a pump. Also heavily considered the Benelli Montefeltro. I liked the feel and the recoil operation, but ultimately decided on the Browning as I feel fit is everything. I know O/Us are great and provide nice features for breaking clays, but they just feel wrong to me. The Brownings are the most natural mounts for me. I had been doing some sporting clays, but decided to really get my basics down for a couple seasons before getting back into sporting clays. Couldn't quite break 30/50 on sporting clays. I especially need to get a better feel for crossing skeet style clays.
