It seems like that the disk is closed by INCD why??
The first time I choose full format, when I right click on the disk drive it tells me that there is no more space back on the disk??

Did you take the disc to another system that had a competitors Packet Writing software?

Did you do a Full Legacy format, or did you do a MRW format?

Do you know if you might have ejected the disc or restarted the system in the middle of a write?

The easiest way to resolve this, would be to temporarily copy the contents of the disc back to your Hard Drive. And then do a Quick Format on the disc. Then copy the contents back. The disc should then be back to normal and useable.

HI Craig.

Thanks for you feedback.
I have just install the INCD on my computer this afternoon, and I have not
had the disk on another system.
The first thing I was doing, was to choose a full format. And then copy all the contents on the disk.
And then ejected the disk, then it tells me that it will take about 60 sek to ejected??
When I put in the disk again it was closed,Now I am trying to do a new format, hope this will help.
Will let you now.

Does it only take 1 min. to format a dvd+rw disk???

But how long would it take for INCD to doing the formatting? It only took 1 min then the disk was ready to use??
Now I have doing a full format, and then copy alle the contents back to the disk. When will the back ground formatting be finish???

It take just over a minute to format a DVD+RW disc.

Of course, if you are going to write a large amount of data to CD-RW media in one shot, it would be best to do a Full format, using the Legacy format process instead of the MRW format process.

As when using the MRW format, it will copy some data, then format, then copy, then format, which takes a long time. It's actually faster just to do a Full Legacy format, and then go back and copy the large amount of data.

Regards,

Craig

Lunte, your problem looks like a track status reporting issue by the device on media with suspended incomplete background format.

I suggest to check for firmware upgrade of your device by your manufacturer tech support, likely it will fix the issue.

HI.

I have not made a MRW format,INCD says that my px-708uf does not support this. But when I select get system info it tells me that it support MRW???
I have a verbatim DVD+RW 2.4x reorder 43154 disk.
My plextor burner has the latest firmware 6.0.
Yesterday I made a format of the disk, and after the 1 min.It pops up an tells me that the disk is finish.
But now to the quistion:after when INCD had told me that the format is finish, should it not continue to format in the background when the disk is idle???
I can see that the status light of the plextor drive is green,it should be yellow when the disk is doing a format??
Maby plextor does not support this disk.

I am testing with PX-708, firmware revision 1.06 (I guess '6.0' is a mistake in Lunte's post). I could not reproduce a problem formatting and writing DVD+RW media (I tested various speeds and brands).

On PX-708, MRW will work for CD-RW with InCD 4.

I have a different problem. Same drive...same version...I can't format full legacy format...it still only takes a minute or so! Am I doing something wrong? I uncheck MRW and choose full format...done in a minute using PX-708A firmware 1.04 and Memorex DVD+RW.

Also...when I remove the disk from the drive...I get the message "Writing to Drive...will take about 60 seconds" as if I had formatted MRW.

Please don't recommend the 1.06 firmware for this drive. When I upgraded...it seriously hindered the drive performance with Nero 6.3.1.6 and burning DVD+R at 8X. I was getting coasters until I went back to firmware 1.04. Guess a tradeoff.

It's not a bug, it's a feature.

DVD+RW media even legacy are background formatted. It takes only about a minute to initiate the background format, and if you want to 'early' eject (eject before the background format has completed), InCD cleanly closes the track before ejecting. Hence the progress dialog you see.

This is documentation in the manual and help file.

Everything is fine with your device.

Thank you for clearing that up for me! I stand corrected and happier at this point. One very positive note. On my laptop...I stil use Nero 5.5.10.56 and have upgraded InCD to 4.2.4.1 and problems with packet writing and the Matshita UJ-810 seem less and less. I used to have problems writing to CD-RW or DVD-RW using older versions of InCD...getting better and more reliable.

Thanks

no help so fare.

Dear Customer,

You are currently trying to read a disc in the UDF Packetwriting format.
You are seeing this message instead of the contents of the disc because your system currently does not support the UDF format.

To make your System UDF compatible, we have developed a complimentary software tool, the InCD EasyWrite Reader.

To download the latest InCD EasyWrite Reader just visit our website at

HI.

I think the problem Is that yesterday I made a dvd labels for my disk, and put this on.
After that the computer will not see the disk anymore,I have also try the disk at my friend´s computer whit incd.
His burner woulden not read the disk eiter,so I have just lost all my backup.
So I dont trust incd and dvd+rw anymore.

What about labels on disk,Is that safe or not?????

most people around here would answer that with an emphatic NO!!

don't use labels.
use a Sharpie like felt-tip pen to write on the disc.
