i guess i am going be buying this...

So i have been using my friends camera to do all my video stuff. I think its been in my hands for sometime now. at least the last 6 months. I think it is going cost a lot

It is a Sony TRV900 comes with two, five hour batteries, and a case.
He also says he has a tripod for it, so i guess i'll get that as well..

I wonder what it'll cost. by looking at ebay, i think it will be over 1000. Maybe as much as 1300. I could get a 21' LCD screen for my PC at that cost

you can't carry a 21" lcd monitor around with you and take video though.Get the video camera, any monitor will work.

I'd rather get a nice Hitachi DVD Camcorder :D

Records direct to 8cm DVD-RAM media :wink:
Punch Cards -> Paper Tape -> Tape Drive -> 8" Floppy Diskette -> 5 1/4" Floppy Diskette -> 3 1/2" "Flippy" Diskette -> CD-R -> DVD±R -> BD-R

it isn't a 3 chip though, so it is just as good as getting a miniDV cam and pre-say you had a miniDV player

didn't understand that. mind clarifying?
what do you mean by "3 chip"?

what do you mean by "3 chip"?

It uses three separate sensors (CCD most likely) - one for red light, one for green light and one for blue light. This allows each pixel to capture the whole spectrum of colors.

Most low priced cameras (still and video) use a mosaic of red, green and blue filters that overlays one sensor so that each pixel only responds to one of the three primary colors. To make the final picture the system has to interpolate colors between pixels (Bayer interpolation).

Because of the interpolation required in one-chip systems, their picture quality is noticably inferior to that of three-chip systems.

thanks cfitz, that's what i had suspected he meant by "3 chip".
it's the second part of the sentence that is completely unclear to me.
One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them
