you have the package of the toy so many years later ?? :o i'm impressed.

I have many packages, almost any computer equipment I bought because sometimes I sell them later.

dodecahedron wrote:mine looks very much like this, but it was metallic dark sky-blue, with yellow landing gear. i don't remember if it had the stripes on the wing and the front of the hull.
also the Thunderbird 4 i have, i dont' think it had all those paintings and decals on it, just red for the exhaust and black for the windshield. as i recall.
i'll have to look and see if i still have it.

i'm still amazed of the coincidence of discovering someone else who has this toy! :D

Maybe you had the small set, in this picture I took minute ago there are my 2 Thunderbird 2 among other that came in the small set:

neat!
i liked the Body Glove avatar better, tho.

all i can say is WOW. what a collection.
those Thunderbirds are awesome!
that big 2- WOW!!!
like i said, my small one was blue. do you remember what the right color in the series was? based on your toys i'm guessing it was green.
BTW i didn't have a set, just Thunderbird 2 (and 4 inside it of course).

you don't have Thunderbird 5 and 6?
i can't ever remember what 5 was. 6 was a space station, right?
was 5 the one that bore into the earth or was that 3?

Alejandra wrote:It was a sixties series of marionettes called Thunderbirds, a non profit, no goverment organization called International Rescue that helped people in the most dagerous situations, it was quite good for its time.

That isn't the anime I was thinking of (obviously), but it is still definitely familiar. Do you know if they ever remade it? I swear I saw a "live" action (puppet/marionette) show like that, but I definitely didn't see it in its first run. Despite my title of "CD-RW Curmudgeon", I'm not old enough to have enjoyed a sixties' show first run. I suppose I might have seen a repeat of the original, but what I remember seeing seemed newer than sixties material. Maybe it was just that much ahead of its time back then??

Wow! I think Alejandra gets the award for best avatar if for no other reason than because she put a script together to rotate her avatar. Of course the avatar choices themselves are quite good too...

I like the Body Glove avatar too, but this is my personal favorite of the ones I have seen so far:

Okay, that is what I saw. I remember that launch sequence. I guess I must have seen a rerun of the original.

MediumRare, I'm sorry I didn't comment on your most excellent avatar also. I overlooked it in the rush of new avatars. However, I must say I heartily approve. I've always been partial to brunettes. I think they have more fire and mystery than blondes, and your avatar's "medium" aspect adds that much more mystery. Of course, if gentlemen prefer blondes, I'm not sure what that makes me...

MediumRare wrote:The avatar is not really my style- (I like this one better for example), but hey, you have make some compromises in a good cause 8).

And we appreciate your "compromises" for the cause. :D

By the way, congratulations (belatedly) on post 700!

Hmm, has everyone forgotten about this:

As you know, I haven't posted for a while, and I was very negatively surprised when I visited CDRLabs tonight and saw all this. I used to like CDRLabs because the members were friendly and nothing inappropriate was posted here. Whatever happened to that? I now feel embarrassed that I have recommended this site to others.

Hrm, never thought *I'D* be one standing up and fighting for "decency" but the fact is that this is a site for everyone, right? And anyone can come and join into these discussions. I think this topic really crosses the line a couple of times (like some of the rather clothingless pics linked too) and people need to remember that children might be getting exposed to some rather adult things because of them.

Look, I'm not against people showing off and enjoying the female body... *FAR* from it, but there are limits that should be kept, and I really think that they haven't been in some of these posts.

While I see where CDRecorder is coming from (especially with some of those links to the topless pics), most of these avatars aren't anything worse than you see on magazine covers, billboards or even the television. I left my forum moderator hat at home so I'll leave it up to you guys to clean it up.

Could you guys tell me which of my avatars could be offensive?

someone asked to me that I remove some of them, but really I don't know which ones? How a character of an anime could be offensive anyway? They are from a kids collection cards.

Or is the iMacGirl?

here is a link whre you can view them:

I was thinking to add some pics of me, but maybe they are offensive too.

Anime girls in bikinis don't really offend me. I've seen worse stuff on CN's Adult Swim.

I can understand that in some countries women in other clothes than their own customs be offensive. But here is no country, here is no specific place, here is the world somehow, and if any can be offended because the world doesn't adjust his/her own customs is his/her problem, not the world's
