Problem with ZSOR for LTR-40125S

Postby antarctican on Fri May 07, 2004 12:55 pm

I have recently upgraded the firmware of my LTR-40125S from ZSOG to ZSOR, but since then I am finding problems with CD Burning. On physically seeing the CD Media after burning MP3, some circular patches are seen, as some burning is left. The CD doesn't run properly in PC or VCD player. Earlier there used to be no such patches and the burnt area used to be continuous. I was happy with the original firmware ZSOG.

Please help. I am using Nero 5.5.10.50 and InCD 3.5.22.0, please help. Should i go for Nero 6?

You have 3 alternatives, according to me :

1)Check the media you're using. Which discs are they? Can you post ATIP info?

2)Roll back to ZS0G, by downloading the firmware from http://dhc014.rpc1.org and flashing it to your drive.

3)Download the latest 48125W firmware from the same site, the .exe version, and apply flashfix to it. Then flash your drive with this firmware, making it a 48125W. Now try burning the same media and see.

I have the same problem!!! So people considering this firmware update should really be careful using it. And Lite-On really needs to do some fixing cos now I have a drive that only burns bad CDs.
The problems started when I bought myself a new spindle of CD-Rs, which was causing a lot of bad burned CDs. I thought I might need the newest firmware for 'more media support', well it ain't working for me...
DAMN!!!
I'll check out option 2 and 3 stated above, and let you know the outcome... Anybody any suggestions for downgrading the DAMN thing???

Try ZS0P? Follow the steps I've outlined above, you shouldn't have a problem.
