1 June 2004 update

Postby Howard Kaikow on Thu Jun 10, 2004 12:23 am

What happened to package 4?
There is currently no date/version listed for package 4 in the update.

The version and date were listed a few daze ago, has the package been withdrawn?

The version of Nero 6 Ultra Edition 6.3.1.15 dated June first should be replaced as of June 8, with "Reloaded Version of Nero ultra Edition 6.3.1.15" according to news from CDRLabs, but there is no such version in Nero WEB site nor any indication that where the Reloaded version of June 8 might be.

This quote is from Ahead's web site, but so far no "new" version.

"Nero’s most recent release will be available online on June 8th at www.nero.com for $69.99 and downloadable upgrade for $49.99. Current Nero 6 Ultra Edition users can update the latest release for free at www.nero.com. The retail box will be available at participating retailers on July 1st in the USA and Canada."

Reminds me of Nero 6's release. Looks like we'll be waiting once again.

I'd rather they got it right than rush it out and burn a bunch of coasters.

Agreed. I just wish they would never "announce" anything and just suprise us when everything's ready. I wasted more than a little time trying to find the Reloaded that was supposed to be out already. :^o

I apologize to everyone for the delay again.

We have taken steps to improve the postings on our website, and we thought we would not have any trouble this time around. But again 'Murphy's Law' bit us in the butt. :)

But we have a new Dedicated webmaster who has been making a lot of good changes on our website, and there are more to come. We are also taking steps to insure release notes are posted in a timely fashion on our website, so this should be addrressed soon as well.

We do here the complaints and we are taking steps to improve our website in a number of areas based on what we here in this forum and others, as well based on direct response from customers on our website.

Best Regards,

Craig

I have to say this...I hope Ahead takes their time. If the addition to the 6 Suite (Photo Express) is like the demo (which by the way is not even complete to the point that you can't put audio in a slide show)...then I'm not impressed...nor moved to upgrade to the Photoshow Elite. I have yet to find a suite of software where I can put 400-500 pictures on a DVD with sound and have it look good. Sorry, but doesn't look like Ahead is going to live up to their name on this one. Ran the demo of Elite for one day before I uninstalled it.

How did you even install it?!? :o

I couldn't get Elite to fully install at all. It would always tell me that it couldn't contact Ahead.de, to check my internet connection, and then the installation would fail.

That's strange because:

1. Have no internet connection problems.
2. I've been downloading and uploading stuff non-stop for the past week.
3. Had no problems connecting to Ahead to download the freakin' installer.

I just did! I downloaded the file...executed it and it downloaded in a matter of seconds. I have Comcast digital cable and an Intel Pro 1000 Gigabit lan...my download speeds are usually 3100 to 3300 kb per sec.

Bob

It went so smoothly that I never even thought about it.
