Daxon = Acer. I've used their CD-R/RW discs, pretty good. Your best bet might be to check CDFreaks Media Test Forum.

Sony 4x DVD-R discs that are made in Taiwan are manufactured by Daxon. Staples currently has the 25pk on sale for $20.

Hmmm, I thought they were made by Lead Data with Sony MID?
I haven't run into any discs with a Daxon MID myself, here in the US.

I'm not sure which is which, but either Gigastorage is making Daxon MID discs, or Daxon is making Daxon MID discs for Gigastorage... but that's the 8x media only (DVD+Rs not DVD-Rs).
Punch Cards -> Paper Tape -> Tape Drive -> 8" Floppy Diskette -> 5 1/4" Floppy Diskette -> 3 1/2" "Flippy" Diskette -> CD-R -> DVD±R -> BD-R
