How do you delete a corrupt file . . .?

Every so often, generally from my own impatience, I'll do something which interrupts the transfer of a file to an InCD MRW formatted CD-RW disc which results in it being corrupted. The problem is that this affected file cannot be deleted, modified or overwritten. And consequently the entire disc is "locked", i.e., "Read Only".

So, my question is, aside from transferring every single file other than the bad one from the CD to your HD, reformatting the disc and then transferring everything back to the disc, is there a better/easier way to remove just these corrupted files?

Pilgirm, if I understand you correctly you have a CD-MRW with mutliple files, you can add, modify and delete all but one file?

Have you try to run Philips UDF Verifier to see if the filesystem is still valid or is corrupted? If it is corrupted, maybe a tool such as iso buster from smart projects will help you to recover your disc.

Yes, you understood my problem correctly. Generally what happens is that I will be copying/moving a file from my HDD to a CD-RW (MRW) and when I "think" that the transfer has completed, I go on to do something else in Windows Explorer. At that point, there is a noticeable delay before the cursor actually moves to the desired place and there is evidently more activity taking place with the CD-RW as the light flashes on and off, albeit intermittently. When that occurs, from experience go back and check the file by trying move it, delete it, etc., and nothing can be done with it.

Consequently, I am forced to move all but the bad file(s)/folder to my HDD, erase/reformat the disc and move them all back. If I don't have a copy of the file(s) that became corrupted, then I obviously lose them.

I'll do a Google and see if I can locate this "Philips UDF Verifier" to have on hand to check the file system integrity. I have ISO Buster, but never thought of using it for this particular situation. I'll have to do a little reading in the help section to see how I would do that.
